Wicked Takeover by Tina Donahue-She Owns Everything In The Place Including Him #BDSM #RomanceNovel #EntangledScorched

She’s just inherited a tattoo parlor…and the hunk who comes with it.

Available for Preorder - Releases August 7

Blurb:

Lauren’s in a helluva mess. Not only has she lost her corporate HR job, she’s just inherited Wicked Brand, a struggling West Palm Beach tattoo parlor…along with the virile dude who runs it. Lauren’s full-figured, sorta pretty, and wanting him badly. Dream on. She’s here to sell the place as quickly as possible for some much-needed cash and score a new position in the corporate world.

Dante’s sinfully hot with a killer smile and beautifully inked biceps. He sees the heat in Lauren’s eyes despite her conservative appearance, recognizing the dynamite woman she could be if she’d just loosen up and have some wicked fun. Dominance and submission. Making love in a public place. Having her lush body always accessible to and ready for his.

Unwilling and unable to keep their hands to themselves, Lauren and Dante turn to carnal games and seduction. Until lust turns to surprising need and friendship to something deeper that might just change their futures.

Excerpt:

“Are you here for a piercing?” He gestured to another wall filled with pictures. His biceps flexed.

Lauren wanted to touch them, feel their strength and heat.

“You can see what we offer in those photos. We also have binders of what we’ve done for past clients to give you an idea of what you might like.”

For someone who prided herself on her no-nonsense professionalism, she was having a hard time not drooling over his freaking arms. What was wrong with her? She knew better than to lust after a guy like him. That path only led to her nursing a humiliating rejection at best and a broken heart at worst. She tore her gaze from his biceps and looked at the photos he was showing her. “Do people really get their tongues tattooed?”

He grinned, showing perfect teeth. “You bet.”

“Why?”

He shrugged good-naturedly. “Why not?”

He wasn’t the least bit uptight. How Lauren envied that. “Have you?”

“Have I what?”

“Had your tongue tattooed? Or are the ones on your arms the only ones you have?”

His smile broadened. He spoke conspiratorially. “I have another, though not on my tongue.”

She hoped he hadn’t inked the prize behind his fly. His equipment had to be as awesome as the rest of him. No way could anyone improve on nature’s perfection.

He regarded her thoughtfully, his gaze warming her in places she hadn’t thought about in far too long. Easily, he took in her short blond hair, her clothes, and her features, including the small mole near her mouth. There, he lingered. A faint smile touched his lips.

Lauren’s throat and cheeks grew hot. With his approving gaze, too much desire rushed through her, making it difficult to breathe.

He flushed, too. “Let me get those binders so you can look through them.”

“No, don’t. Please. That’s not why I’m here.”

His dark eyebrows lifted. “You’re selling something?” He glanced at her purse and looked around her, possibly for an organization caddy stuffed with her product line.

“Uh no. I’m here to take over.”

“Take over?”

“Uh-huh.”

He looked lost. “As in what?”

“This place.” She gestured to the parlor. “I own this business and everything in it, including you.”

Under a Mating Moon by Celia Breslin-They Are Meant To Be #RomanceNovel #BlackHillsWolves #MF

Blurb:

British Alpha wolf Jake Matthews spends his days among humans, pursuing a lucrative music career and avoiding his pack’s politics. When his current DJ tour takes him to the US, he stops in Los Lobos to visit family, and runs into the one Wolf he never wants to see again—the mate who rejected his claim.

While visiting her brother in Los Lobos, free-spirited Lexi Luparell is shocked to encounter the Wolf she’d denied when they were teens. Now she must face her guilt for the cruel way she spurned him all those years ago, make amends, and admit the truth. Jake was right all along—they’re meant to mate.

Lexi would love to explore the mate concept and her overwhelming attraction to virile, alpha Wolf Jake, but he wants nothing to do with her. How can she break down his defenses when she’s the reason he built them in the first place?

Jake dates only human women now. Lexi had her shot at being his mate, and she threw it away. But when her life is threatened, he may have to rethink his position and do whatever it takes to claim his one true mate.

Excerpt:

A billion butterflies battered Lexi's stomach. She shifted her attention from Ross to the piano. Sure enough, the music had stopped, and Jake faced her from his seat on the bench. Man oh man, the heavy stare from those sky blue eyes sent shivers skittering down her spine. His gaze held the same intensity she remembered from him as a kid, as if he saw into the heart of people, exposing their deepest secrets. It had driven her crazy back then, and she'd spent much time teasing him, pulling his hair, trying to distract him from being so serious all of the damn time. They were teenagers—partying was supposed to be their sole focus.

With his ice-blue stare locked on her, Jake rose to his feet, all taut muscle and predatory power. His energy swept over her like a tsunami, forcing all of the moisture to abandon her mouth while parts much lower wept with want. Her inner Wolf howled, answering the call of this Alpha, the first Dominant male ever to make her sit up and take notice. Holy crap. Her muscles shook with the need to bound over to him, jump in his arms, wrap her legs around his torso and writhe against his hard, hot, tattooed body.

Jake said something to his uncle then stalked straight at her, cutting a path right through the middle of the tables and the many, too-curious patrons.

A whimper escaped her throat.

Surprise sparked in her brother’s brown eyes.

"You're kidding me. Him?"  He burst out laughing. "Wow, sis, that's some major, big-time irony right there."

Darci’s expression conveyed her bewilderment. "Now what are you two talking about?"

Her annoying brother grinned. "See that angry Alpha headed our way? My sister here rejected him when they were teens and he's apparently her—"

Lexi socked her brother in the ribs. "Shut it, Ross."

"Ouch." Ross rubbed his side and chuckled at her plight. The jerk. "Come on, Lexi, you have to admit the hilarity of the situation."

No, she did not. Nor did she have to admit that J-Bird was right all those years ago. He was her mate. O to the M to the G…. They were mates.

Even so, he didn't look happy to see her at all. In fact, he looked positively enraged. Shit, shit and triple shit. What a mess she'd made eight years ago. Well, she was woman enough to pull on her big-girl panties and fix it. She straightened her spine and lifted her chin in challenge, meeting Jake's stormy stare. He halted before her.

I can do this. "Hey J-Bird. Nice to see you." Lovely. Her voice sounded like she'd eaten the gravel from the lot in front of Gee's bar. Embarrassment heated her cheeks.

One breath, two breaths, three…. J-Bird glared. Tension coiled between them in the silence. Lexi bit the inside of her cheek to avoid babbling at him. She'd said hello. It was his turn. Damn it, J-Bird, say something. He wasn't making this easy.

"Alexina."  His arctic tone dismissed her and slapped her in the face at the same time, leaving her disappointed and confused. No one called her by her full name. No one except her parents when she'd done something wrong as a kid. He might as well have said, "Screw you," while slamming a door in her face.

His focus shifted to her brother. "Hello, Ross. Been a while." His hand shot out to grasp her brother's in a cordial shake.

"Good to see you, Jake. Join us for lunch? My treat. We can catch up on old times."

"No, thank you. I'm done. Nice to see you again, Ross." Jake nodded at Darci. "Miss." He brushed past them and out the door.

"What. Just. Happened?" The, “I'm done,” he uttered in his delicious British accent seemed aimed more at her than at her brother's offer. And the fact he hadn't even looked at her before stalking out all sexy in his gloom and doom? Yeah, that hurt.

"I think you know, sis." The amusement left her brother's face and sympathy glimmered in his gaze. "Question is, what are you going to do about it?"

She'd never run from a fight in her life. She wouldn't start now. "Grab a table. I'll be back in a second. Or not."

She ignored her brother's knowing grin and hurried out the door.

I didn't realize until my first night, and by then, it was too late to back out.

Especially when I met my boss.

When he pulls me into a private room and shows me what he can do with his wicked lips, I know I'm in trouble.

Club Deep is like no place I've ever been.

The longer I work here, the more I feel myself changing.

Can I change enough to keep Cole interested in me?

Or will this club ruin me first?

#Spanking by Q. Zayne-He Fulfilled Her Secret Desires #BDSM #RomanceNovel #MF

Blurb
Cleo discovers she can experience the complete fulfillment of her secret desires. She has only to ask.
A joking email from my favorite co-worker leads me to a naughty site.

Submission Island offers a free, all-expenses paid vacation at a Caribbean resort for qualified women.

It doesn’t seem likely the exclusive resort would accept a curvy, half-Egyptian, twenty-eight year-old with limited kinky experience. The application reads like a menu for perversion. I click off the Yes, No, Maybe activities and upload my most appealing lingerie photo. Hell, I need a vacation full of sex with no ties except the ones that get undone after a happy ending.

This time, I’ll go for having my erotic dreams come true.

Something happens when you face your deepest desires. You change. You can’t turn back.

I enter a labyrinth where I get to choose what happens to me.

I think a spanking will be safe.

Seduction and Kink Give These Lawyers The Pleasure They Need- Kinky Briefs Too by Seelie Kay #BDSM #RomanceNovel #ShortStories

‘I can’t believe you wrote a dirty book!’

I am a former lawyer and a sometime journalist. I have more than 30 years of experience combining my legal and writing skills, working for law firms, bar associations, legal publications, and yes, even courts. I know the backrooms better than the corner offices, but it has been a living.

Writing a collection of short stories the revolved around the fantasies of a young lawyer toiling away in a law firm seemed to be a natural extension of my life experience. Yes, I kicked it up a bit, making the sex a bit more exciting and a bit more explicit than most would imagine lawyers were capable of, but lawyers are not only human, they also fall privy to the frivolities of the heart. They love, they laugh, and yes, they even have kinky sex. My stories are fiction embroidered with a window into legal world.

So when I completed my book, and it was accepted by a publisher, I expected my family and friends to be as excited as I was, and yes, I even expected them to be proud.  Most were. Except for one individual, who shall remain nameless. She reacted with such disdain, such outright prudery, that I was left questioning my intentions for writing the book.

The completion of my book was a coming of age, of sorts. It was a declaration that nothing could defeat me. In 2002, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The diagnosis was soul-crushing, but not unexpected. For years, my complaints about clumsiness and stiffness in my legs had been brushed off as arthritis. When I started falling without explanation, I began to push harder, and one morning, after I awoke and was unable to move, I threw down the gauntlet. I demanded an explanation from my doctors, and after some rather terrifying tests—I defy anyone to submit to a spinal tap and enjoy it—I was diagnosed with MS.  Sometimes, when you have plans, God laughs, hard. The day before my diagnosis I had finally paid off my exorbitant student debt.  I was planning a vacation somewhere warm to celebrate.

Unfortunately,  I was suddenly a newly divorced mother with a young child, who had recently left the legal world to start her own business as a legal marketing and public relations consultant with a chronic neurological disease, one without a cure. I was terrified. I struggled through multiple treatments and medications, until finally, in 2008, I felt ready to move on with my life. My disease was considered “stabilized.” Then the fun began. For a variety of reasons, I was subjected to six surgeries in five years. I was literally in an anesthesia fog. I had been warned that it would take up to a year for each round to clear out of my body and mind, but the cumulative effect left me a mere shadow of myself. My mind was a big fat blank.

One day, I woke up and my mind was clear. I was churning with ambition and grand ideas. I wanted to write a book.  For more than 20 years, I had been collecting information on my late grandfather, who had founded a notorious religious cult in Canada. I began writing. At the same time, for my own amusement, I began to write fantasies about lawyers in love, throwing in a little kink to spice things up. I never expected those stories to see the light of day. They were personal, a reflection of my experiences as a woman lawyer and all the frustrations that I witnessed firsthand.

However, after experiencing considerable frustration over finding an agent for the book about my grandfather, and never finding one, I switched gears. I knew the book was good and eventually, someone would embrace it as I had, but I was becoming a “query machine” and I was in danger of losing my passion.

So I decided to compile my short stories and shop them around. My idea was to offer a guilty pleasure, something that could be stuck in a purse or a briefcase for quick read on the train or during a break at work. When the book was picked up by a credible publisher, I was ecstatic. Finally, I felt like I had taken my life back.

So my response to that snooty little relative who reacted with such scorn:  “Did I write a dirty book?”

Damn right. In fact, thus far I have written four!

When love and lust combine in the legal world, something kinky will happen, says Milwaukee author Seelie Kay, a former attorney.

Kinky Briefs, Too, a collection of short stories about lawyers, love, and law firm hijinks, was released by eXtasy Books today and is now available for sale as an ebook on the publisher’s website.  It will soon be available as an ebook and paperback from major booksellers, including Amazon.com.

The book continues the theme of lawyers and other legal staff in love from its predecessor, Kinky Briefs, which was released on February 24.  That book received five-star reviews from Goodreads.com, Amazon.com, and ManicReaders.com.

The collection of short stories in Kinky Briefs, Too provide a humorous, but twisted look at the inner workings of the legal world, from a mass torts lawyer determined to win the heart of a law student to the trauma of a courthouse shooting and the seduction of a paralegal by a billionaire in a romantic, but very public setting.

“Many stories are drawn from the headlines and combined with a touch of fantasy to provide a contemporary, romantic twist,” says Kay, who writes under a nom de plume.

She says her book is intended to be a guilty pleasure, something “to stick in your backpack, purse, or briefcase, ready for a quick peek during breaks and moments of leisure.”

Kay adds, “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you might even blush, but one thing is for certain, you will never look at lawyers or the legal profession in quite the same way. Heck, this book might even convince you to apply to law school!”

Kinky Briefs, Too is available as an e-book at www.extasybooks.com and will eventually be sold by major booksellers, including www.amazon.com.  It is the second book in a series.

Bio

Seelie Kay is nom de plume for a lawyer and journalist, the author of Kinky Briefs and the soon to be released Kinky Briefs, Too and The Garage Dweller. Mended Trust by Lynda Bailey- She Has A New Master and Mistress #BDSM #RomanceNovel #Menage

Sometime Love Does Conquer All

Blurb

All Ford Washington wanted for was to marry his childhood sweetheart, Zoe, have a couple of kids and live a simple, yet happy life. Too bad Zoe had other plans. His wife leaving damn near destroyed Ford, but he buried his pain and forged ahead in order to care for his two young children. When he isn’t bartending at the Bluebird Saloon, Ford’s at home with Abel and Emery. Though being their dad gives him immeasurable happiness, Ford thinks it might be time to start dating again. And that’s when Zoe arrives back in Trustworthy.

Zoe Miller Washington knows her mind. She always has. She knows what she wants and she goes after it. Period. Like the time when, at the tender age of ten, she decided she’d one day be Ford’s wife and mother of his children. And she was. But a growing restlessness started to consume Zoe from the inside out. Something was missing, but she didn’t know what. Until she met Jenna. Then Zoe’s disquiet began to ease, though not completely. Now she’s back in Trustworthy to get the final pieces of her heart’s puzzle—her husband and kids.

Jenna Blakely is—most definitely—not a pushover. She’s a Top, for heaven’s sake, and a good one at that. However, from the moment she met Zoe, she couldn’t say no. To anything. Not to taking Zoe on a cross country trip, not to them moving in together, not even to showing Zoe the beautiful complexities of a Top/bottom bond. But when Zoe wants to return to Trustworthy to see her kids, Jenna fears there’s more to her request than meets the eye. Does Zoe also want to “see” her estranged husband and, if so, what will that mean for her relationship with Zoe?

Mended Trust is a BDSM, polyamorous romance which contains scenes of domination and submission, spanking, whipping, multiple sex partners and more. It is intended for mature readers only.

Adult Excerpt

She ambled over and trailed her hand along the quilt covering the bed then turned back to Jenna and Ford.

“I can’t believe you all did this without me knowing.”

Jenna walked toward her. “It wasn’t easy, but someone once told me nothing worth doing ever is.”

She cupped Zoe’s cheek. “Happy?”

Zoe leaned into her Mistress’s palm. “More than I can say.”

Jenna smiled. “Then that’s all that matters.”

She pulled Zoe closer and captured her lips. As always, her Mistress’s kiss was possessive and demanding. But there was something else. Something different. A promise. A promise of something…new.

Strong arms enfolded her and Jenna, pressing them tighter together. Jenna broke from Zoe’s lips and Ford took her place. Zoe sensed a changed in his kiss as well. It seemed more confident, almost…dominant. Her pussy quivered in anticipation.

He released them both, went to the dresser and extracted a blindfold from the top drawer. He gave Zoe a hard stare. “Come here.”

A shiver danced along her spine at his commanding tone. Head bowed, she moved to stand in front of him. In her peripheral vision, she saw Jenna settled on the bed, watching.

“Strip,” he ordered.

With shaking hands, Zoe tugged her t-shirt from her waistband and over her head while toeing off her tennis shoes. She dispatched her jeans and panties in one move, yanked her socks off then finally unclasped her bra. Everything landed in a heap at her feet.

Ford tsked. “Is that anyway to treat your clothes?”

“Oh…apologies.” Zoe knelt, scooped the bundle into her arms and stood. “Where should I put them?”

He handed the blindfold to Jenna. “This time, give them to me. But in the future, you’re to fold them and place them in the bottom drawer. Understand?”

“Yes…” Zoe chanced a glance up at him. “…um…what do I call you when we’re down here?”

“You’ll call him what he is,” Jenna interjected. “Husband.”

Serena’s Prince by Ayla Ruse-He Will Give Her Pleasure Only If She Obeys #BDSM #RomanceNovel #Spanking

Hello Clare and thank you for letting me spend a little time on your blog today. I have out now a short retelling of a classic fairy tale of The Frog Prince. My story is called Serena’s Prince. It follows the same premise as the original—the young woman who has a “ball” that disappears into a pond. The frog who rescues the ball. The promise to keep the frog nearby. The killing of the frog. The frog turning into the handsome prince. The pair falling in love to have their happily ever after. Yes, that’s it in a nutshell (Note—the original tale does not have the kiss-a-frog scenario).

However, this story always struck a wrong cord in me. I mean, the young woman was cruel to the frog. How could he then turn around and fall instantly in love with her once he became a man? This stirred the idea of control, punishment and pleasure.

From this simple story and intriguing question, I created my own (BDSM) version of The Frog Prince. BookAddict from The Romance Room says, "(the) twist of each scene to become a smexy hot erotic D/s piece is what makes this story so good. (This is) a tightly woven tale with increasing sexual tension and lovely bondage scenes."

I hope you think so too. Below is a little snippet from the story. Enjoy!

A frog, a curse and a broken promise. Sometimes punishment can be its own reward.

Blurb

Serena never thought asking for help from a frog would result in her being naked and tied to her bed. She should be afraid. She should call for the guards. She definitely should not be… begging for more.

Prince Rennick needs to get his hands on Serena’s necklace -- the one item sure to break the curse that turned him into a frog. When an accident makes him temporarily human, he cannot help but use his dominant nature to bend Serena to his will.

What should have broken the curse turns into a desperate attempt to save Rennick’s life. As they try to find the key, Rennick demands much from Serena, but is she willing to surrender everything to this frog-turned-prince?

Excerpt (R):

“And the real Serena is coming out,” he said. She was not amused. “You are too innocent to understand why I left the bed. I’ve not been with a woman since the curse was put upon me. And I don’t like to rush anything I do.”

“But --“

“Do not interrupt, please.” He stroked her cheek. “I will love your body. I will give you pleasure such as you have never known, but the time will be spent as I dictate.”

“What do you --“

Her words ended on a cry as he twisted one of her nipples through her nightgown. “I asked you not to interrupt, pet. You will do as I say. You will not disobey, or you will be punished. You will not argue, or you will be punished. If I want you to lie here for the next two hours while I stare at you, you will not complain. Am I understood?”

Serena blinked. Was the man insane? “You’ve got to be kidding.”

He popped his hand between her legs, the stinging slap on her pussy at once painful and exciting. “I never kid, Serena. Yes, I will make demands of you, but trust me when I say the rewards will be well worth your obedience.”

His words warred within her. It sounded exciting, but scary. What if he did something she didn’t like? She was about to ask, but he’d moved and was untying her arms. Before she could register what he was about, he pulled her over his lap with her butt thrust up in the air.

“Hey, wait. What are you doing?”

He held one hand on the back of her neck, keeping her upper body pushed down toward the floor.

“You, my darling, are in need of a spanking. You were very unkind to me this week, and you’re showing belligerence now. I’ll serve you ten, and you must count them for me.”

“You can’t spank me!” she cried out, indignant that he thought he could do this to her.

He gave her bottom a sharp swat and she yelped, stilling under the unexpected strike.

“That’s better. Have you ever been spanked, Serena?”

“As a child.”

“Good. But just because you grow up doesn’t mean you outgrow the need for discipline from time to time. If you were to be with me, you would understand my word is law. If you disobey, you must be disciplined.”

“But –- hey, what are you doing?”

She squirmed as cool air hit the backs of her legs. Before she could take another breath, he’d yanked her gown up her body and down off her head. Her eyes stared at the pool of silk, now a puddle on the floor. Unfortunately, this was not how she’d expected to be naked with the man. She wiggled more, not giving up her attempts to get off his lap.

When he slid his hand over her bottom, however, her traitorous body went pliant over his legs. She couldn’t fight this. She liked the rough feel of his touch. She shifted, and her hip bumped his erection. His sharp intake of air told her he felt it, too. She smiled and tried to rub against him again, but when his hand struck her bottom, all thoughts of seduction fled.

“Ow!”

“No, that was one. Say the numbers out loud, please.”

“No, I won’t –-“

He slammed his hand against her again.

“You will say the numbers, or I’ll continue to spank you until you do. You’re to listen to me now, Serena.”

#MFRWBookHooks-His Desire To Protect His Submissives Was Blinding Him #BDSM #RomanceNovel-Joy To His World

Hi Everyone,

Today's selection is from my recent release Joy To His World. It's a BDSM, menage, mmf, erotic, contemporary romance.

Let me set the scene, Chris, one of the MC, is a Dom with a problem. He suffer's from PTSD and because of this he is always concerned for the safety of his subs.

God, I miss them so much. I wish…I tried to protect them…

His eyes burned as tears formed then ran down his cheeks.

I’m so sorry. I promise I will never let that happen again.

He dragged in a deep breath and wiped his brow with the back of hands as the agony receded and transformed into concern for Nate. His husband needed him, too. In spite of Nate’s tough exterior, he was a tender man who depended on him for safety.

Shit. Get a grip.

He opened his eyes and forced himself to regain his composure. There was no way in hell he would let Nate down. He stood and glanced at his watch. He hadn’t heard from his husband since before he left for work. Yeah, so Nate was in the suite across the hall. It still bugged the hell out of him that he had yet to see his husband. Chris rubbed his forehead. His anxiety was getting out of control again. His desire to keep his family close was overriding common sense.

You’ll see him at lunch like you always do.

It sounded great, but his gut wasn’t having any of it. It told him to get over to Nate’s office right now.

To hell with it. “I’m supposed to trust my heart? Then, okay, I will. Right now my heart and gut are telling me to go check on my husband.”

He hurried out of his office and went past his secretary without a word.

A Little Insight From The Author...

How did you get started writing?

I have always written. I love expressing myself through the written word. I love words! I love word images and word feelings. Language is an amazing gift and words can create amazing feelings and visuals. In high school, I took a creative writing class and knew I had found my niche. My parents, however, directed me toward a more secure career, but I never forgot my love of writing. I have tried off and on over the years to have books published which was so difficult I gave up all hope of ever being published, but then I discovered self-publishing and that really clicked for me. I was so glad that I could actually have a book published and I was publishing the book the way I wanted it to be.

What genre(s) do you write in and why?

I write romantic suspense because I love romance and I love mysteries. I love strong heroes who know what they want and know who to get it, and I love strong females who can stand against anyone. I especially love it when they stand up to the hero and the dilemma is between saving the day or saving the relationship. Saving the day may be the only choice but then what becomes of the hero and heroine? You have to turn the page to find out.

Tell us about your current series.

During the summers, when I was young, my father would take us to the mountain ranch where he grew up. We loved it there. We loved riding horses and fishing and hiking. Those summers were special to us and when I was trying to decide on a series, I thought a ranch would be the perfect setting. I tweaked it a little bit and added the Arabian horse training, and then, of course, each book has romance and mystery.

What is your next project and when will it be released?

I’m working on two projects right now, which is a little nerve racking. I sent the manuscript for the sixth book in the Crystal Creek series to my editor and received her comments back the other day, so now I’m going through the manuscript trying to decide what I want to change and what I want to keep. I hope to release this book by the end of the summer. I’m also participating in a boxed set with twenty other authors. This boxed set will be released in November. My contribution will be a novella but it will introduce my next series. Also set in Colorado, this series focuses on college graduates as they make their way into the world. I’m very excited about that and can’t wait to release it.

Tell us about your hero. Give us one of his strengths and one of his weaknesses.

Trent Parker came from nothing, but was never one to settle. He climbed his way up the Hollywood ladder starting with walk-on parts while he waited tables and shoveled asphalt until he had enough money to start his own production company. At last, he has everything he wants: He owns Hollywood. Everyone A-list star wants to work for him. But he doesn’t have one thing - the option for the breakout novel Sunset in Maui. Charisse Whitloch owns that. He’ll do anything to get that option, but he can only do that be getting close to Charisse. If he does that, it will destroy him.

Anthem of The Sea By Thom Collins-Love And Murder? Not What He Expected #RomanceNovel #MM #Suspense

An ocean of possibility. For love, revenge and murder.

Blurb:

Daniel Blake, a handsome young singer, boards the Atlantic Anthem in Portugal for the final voyage of her maiden season. The state-of-the-art ship is the jewel in the Royal Atlantic cruise fleet. For Daniel, a one-time boy band member and TV talent show winner, it’s an honor to perform aboard such a vessel. Daniel loves the freedom and adventure of the sea. He began his solo career as a cruise ship entertainer and returning to the ocean as a headline act brings him full circle. He isn’t looking for love.

Neither is comedian Elijah Mann. Working at sea has given Elijah’s career the boost it desperately needed. Often considered too good-looking and sexy to be funny, work has been hard to come by since his TV show was canceled. With a potential new career opening up, he must remain focused. But when Elijah meets Daniel the attraction is mutual and instant. As the ship sets sail for England they have three days to get to know each other. Elijah can’t let that opportunity pass.

The voyage home is far from smooth. Also on board is a figure from Daniel’s past. A man who’s been holding a grudge for years, waiting for his moment. As a storm builds in the North Atlantic, Daniel and Elijah discover that the trip of a lifetime could be their last.

EXCERPT:

The taxi collected Daniel Blake from the hotel on time. He liked that. Punctuality, efficiency and professionalism—three things he valued in all areas of his career. Be on time and be prepared—that had been his motto since he was fourteen years old. Fifteen years later, he continued to live by it.

He helped the driver load his gear into the trunk. There wasn’t much of it. When on the road, he traveled light with just a medium-sized case, a holdall and a suit carrier. He’d arrived in Lisbon the previous morning, disembarking from a cruise ship, where he’d performed for two nights. His shirts would need washing and his suit pressing before his next show. There was plenty of time.

He gave the driver directions to his designated cruise terminal and climbed onto the back seat. Thankfully, the air conditioning was running. Though it was late October, the outside temperature remained in the mid-eighties and it wasn’t even eleven o’clock. Last night he had heard some of the hotel staff complain about the weather turning cold, but for a boy like him, born and raised in the northeast of England, these climates were well above average. Back home, this would be a hot day in June or July.

It was a short drive to the port. Early in the day, but the streets were busy. Three massive cruise ships were anchored in the harbor, discharging thousands of eager tourists into the city. British, American, German, Japanese, they scurried through the streets, clutching backpacks and maps, keen to explore as much as they could of the historic Portuguese city in the few hours they had here.

Daniel smiled at their faces as they zipped by.

Lisbon, his last stop before home.

The car arrived at the port and within ten minutes Daniel stood beside the gangway with his luggage, waiting for the necessary security calls to be made that would allow him to board the ship. The enormous vessel towered above him, casting a huge shadow across the dock. The Atlantic was one of the biggest and most spectacular cruise ships in the world.

There were a lot of criticisms for super ships such as this. He’d heard them described as floating shopping malls, grotesque monstrosities and budget hotels at sea, but for Daniel there was something quite majestic about the craft and its design, to say nothing of the engineering that went into the construction of such a huge vessel.

“Those things are so top heavy,” a jobbing magician once had told him in a bar. “I hear they roll right over in high seas.”

Daniel had laughed at the man’s ignorance. “And when did you last hear of that happening?”

The man had floundered. “I’m just saying that something so uneven can’t be safe, can it? You won’t ever catch me on one of them things. Mug’s game, isn’t it?”

“It’s your loss,” Daniel had told him cheerily. He felt safer at sea, even in the roughest weather, than he ever had on a plane. Motorways too. It might not be the quickest, but without a doubt it was the most luxurious and extravagant way to travel. He loved being at sea.

Waiting for the security guy to return with his passport, Daniel realized he’d drawn some attention. A slow stream of passengers was returning to the ship. They couldn’t have seen much of Lisbon, coming back already. Among them was an English family. While the parents lit cigarettes before joining the embarkation queue, the daughter, who looked around fourteen, stared directly at him.

“Hi.” He smiled. “Good day out?”

The girl was plump and pretty with wavy brown hair that fell around her shoulders. She wore a sweet, flowery sundress and red Converse shoes. She blushed as she realized she’d been caught gawking.

“Are you…? Oh, my God, you are, aren’t you? You’re Daniel Blake.”

He raised his hands in mock surrender. “Guilty as charged. Don’t shoot me.”

The girl nervously stepped forward, looking at him with wide, hazel eyes. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m waiting to join the ship. I’m performing on board.”

Her jaw fell. “The Anthem? You’re coming on the Anthem?”

He nodded. He didn’t mind being recognized like this. Daniel was famous enough in the UK, but not so much that it ever became an inconvenience. His fame came from a TV talent show. The public had made him and he appreciated all the support he got.

“Oh my God.” The girl’s face became highly animated. “Mam! Dad! Come here. Oh my God, you won’t believe it. Daniel Blake. It’s actually him.”

Her bemused parents stubbed out their cigarettes and came over. They were an attractive-looking couple of around forty. The girl looked a lot like her father.

“I hope she’s not bothering you,” the dad said, looking cautiously between Daniel and his daughter.

“Not a bit,” Daniel assured him. “It’s a pleasure.”

“Daniel is going to be singing on the ship. Can you believe it? How cool is that?” She grinned a mile wide.

“Starting tomorrow,” he said. “Make certain you get yourselves a great seat down front. I can use all the support I can get.”

“I will, I will. I voted for you every week on The One. You were my favorite from the start.”

“So it’s you I need to thank for winning. What’s your name, sweetie?”

“Julieann.”

“Well, thank you, Julieann. Your votes changed my life.”

The girl blushed violently.

The security officer came back to escort Daniel onto the ship. Before boarding, he posed for photographs with Julieann and her family.

“The girls at school will have a fit when they see these on Instagram,” Julieann said proudly as they took a selfie together.

“See you at the shows,” Daniel said as he walked on board. “And don’t forget—front row. Be there. I’ll look out for you.”

“We’ll definitely be there.”

Once on board, he passed his luggage through the security scanner and was equipped with his sea pass ID, the plastic card that would enable him to move around the ship, access his accommodation and run a tab in the bars and shops. He was greeted on the far side of security by a young woman in a blue shirt and khaki shorts. Her soft blonde hair was tied back from her round, attractive face. She was vaguely familiar from his engagement earlier in the season. He checked her name badge to refresh his memory. Belle Hodges, entertainment crew, from South Australia.

“Hi,” Belle said cheerily. “It’s wonderful to have you back on board.”

She extended her hand and he shook it. “It’s great to be back. Honestly, I’ve been looking forward to this since I left in May. How has your maiden season gone?”

“Over too quickly and totally ace. I can’t believe it’s been that long since you were here. Yikes, the time has flown. Let me give you a hand with your stuff.”

“That’s okay. I can manage. Just point me in the right direction and I’ll find my way.”

Ignoring his protests, Belle took up the suit carrier.

“You’re in real luck,” she said. “You’ve been allocated a large stateroom on one of the passenger decks. Balcony and all.”

“You’re joking? Wow. Am I sharing with the house band or a football team?”

Belle giggled, wrinkling her nose. “Silly. You’ve got the whole place to yourself.”

“Seriously? What gives? I never get accommodation like that.”

Belle looked around cautiously and lowered her voice. “We had a family thrown off the ship in Gran Canaria so you’ve got their room. They caused a fight in the martini bar and punched an officer who tried to intervene. Captain Rassimov put them off at the next port. No second chances.”

“Good to know we’re in such firm hands.”

“Captain Rassimov is the best,” Belle gushed.

Daniel didn’t doubt it. He’d met the dashing captain on his last trip. Tall, dark, handsome and extremely charismatic, he sent hearts beating fast among the passengers and crew. If he wasn’t so straight, Daniel would fancy him too. Rassimov was the perfect man to master such a grand vessel.

Launched in May, with a rumored cost of over one-point-five billion, the Atlantic Anthem was coming to the end of its inaugural European season. It was the newest and biggest vessel in the Royal Atlantic fleet. Daniel had spent two nights on board when he’d performed a headline set on the maiden voyage. He’d worked for cruise companies all over the world, but he couldn’t fail to be impressed by the Anthem. It was billed as the ship with everything. From his own experience that was certainly true.

As he walked through the decks with Belle, his sense of excitement increased. The interior was truly splendid. Not a penny had been spared, from the lush carpets to the paintings and sculptures that graced every deck. Before coming on board, he’d read all the specs—about the spa and fitness center, two swimming pools and a solarium, the Royal Theater with nine-hundred-sixty seats, the bars—eight of them across the ship—the main dining room plus three specialty restaurants and a twenty-four-hour café. Several public entertainment areas were situated on Decks Four and Five around a jaw-dropping central staircase. Knowing all of that in advance, he still had been blown away when he’d came upon the ship for the first time. And he felt it now, all over again.

Only the most jaded, spoiled and hard-to-please traveler could fail to be inspired by the Anthem. They rode one of the glass elevators to the tenth floor where Belle led him down a long corridor to his stateroom in the forward section of the ship.

“Last time, I had an interior cabin in the crew quarters.” He laughed.

“Yep, that’s where they like to cram us in. But now you’ve got this.”

Daniel swiped his sea pass card to enter the room. A major step up from crew class, the room was bright and contemporary, to the standard of any good hotel. He had an enormous double bed all to himself and a sitting area with a long, cream leather sofa. There was a dressing table, minibar, TV, private bathroom and balcony.

“I hope I don’t get lost in here,” he joked, dumping his luggage by the wardrobe.

“As long as you’re on stage for your shows tomorrow night, no one will mind what you get up to in here,” Belle said.

“You can put your mind at ease on that count,” he said. “I’ve been performing since I was fourteen and I’ve never missed a show in my life.”

Belle left him to settle in. Daniel unpacked his clothes first and filled a plastic bag with stuff that needed washing immediately—shirts, socks and underwear. Another great thing about working on a luxury cruise liner—everything was to hand. If he left the bag out today, all the items would be washed, ironed and returned by tomorrow.

He went into the bathroom next, laying out his razor, toothbrush and skincare products. He brought everything with him when he traveled. Though he wasn’t particularly vain, it was important to look good in public.

He didn’t have to worry. At twenty-nine years old—five months shy of thirty—he was in prime condition. He’d never looked better. For years he used to hate the way he looked. Everything about him had been out of proportion, especially his face. Eyes, teeth, nose, chin, they were always too big. But throughout his twenties, the rest of his body had caught up. He’d filled out and gained muscle and his face, which had seemed so awkward in his teens, had developed an extraordinary handsomeness. He had a strong jaw with a cowboy cleft, while his mouth was wide and masculine. With sky-blue eyes and thick brown hair, he had become a good-looking man. Very good-looking. His confidence hadn’t grown to match his looks. A part of him would always be that skinny, peculiar kid. But only he could see it.

Finally unpacked, he relaxed and walked onto the balcony. He had a great view of the city and the people below, streaming like ants around the port terminals. Daniel took a moment to enjoy it all. He loved just about every part of the cruise experience.

Every ship, every voyage, was a new adventure.

The Atlantic Anthem promised a greater adventure than any other.

He couldn’t wait to get started.

Thom Collins Bio

Thom Collins is the author of the novel Closer by Morning, with Pride Publishing. His love of page turning thrillers began at an early age when his mother caught him reading the latest Jackie Collins book and promptly confiscated it, sparking a life-long love of raunchy novels.

The novellas Gods of Vengeance and Silent Voices were published by Pride in early 2017, followed by the novel Anthem of the Sea, the first book in the Anthem Trilogy. He has recently finished writing the second book in a series and is working on the third.

Thom has lived in the North East of England his whole life. He grew up in Northumberland and now lives in County Durham with his husband and two cats.
