Welcome to my blog. I'm having a lot of fun participating in this blog hop with my fellow #MFRW authors and I hope you are enjoying our posts.
This week's topic is "Story Inspiration."
A lot of authors say they get inspiration for their stories from friends, family and things they've heard or experienced in their life. In a way that's true for me but mostly I'm a visual kind of girl.
What does that mean? Well I tend to be inspired by things I see like pictures or scenes from catalogs or calendars and stuff like that. But mostly pics.
Be it a photo of a beautiful countryside or a graphic or gif of a holiday scene or seasonal picture like the one below:
Or a pic of a sexy model-
...If it catches my eye, a story will form in my mind and the and next thing I know I'm laying to down the framework for my next book.
Not very glamorous but then again neither is the actual writing process. For example, the photo of this wolf (see pic below) inspired me to write my first MF, paranormal, contemporary erotic shifter romance.
The fierce nobility that this wolf exudes and the intelligence behind that piercing stare spoke to me. I could see the son of the alpha looking at the antics of his brother. I imagined him taking it all in yet silently obeying and staying loyal to his pack.
Yes, this beautiful wolf was the inspiration for Callum Blake, the main character and hero in my book Wolf's Blade.
Whenever I was at a loss for words, all I had to do was look at the pic and the Callum came back to life.
In the immortal words of Col. John "Hannibal" Smith from the incredible action packed 1980's tv show the A-Team- "I love it when a plan comes together."
When inspiration meets creativity- the resulting synergy is amazing.
Hi Everyone! Welcome to my Sexy Saturday Spanking-esque snippet.
Today's selection is from my untitled, contemporary, erotic, menage, BDSM, romance WIP. It's a fun about a Dom who is married to his two subs, a man and a woman. Despite his strict, no nonsense nature, they love to tease him.
“Yes Master,” she said smiling. “You know I love you.”
“Not because of the shoes I hope?” he declared.
She frowned. “Don't be silly. I love you because you are warm, generous, handsome, kind...”
He nodded. “Alright, go on, flattery will get you everywhere. Purchase undies while you are at it.”
She clutched the card, yelping as she grabbed her jacket.
“And not the granny kind either! I mean it!” he warned hearing the front door close.
Donny chuckled softly.
“Good God,” Ian said shaking his head. “You saw them, all three of us could fit into them.”
“I believe she said they were maternity underwear.”
“But she's not bloody pregnant,” he said shaking his head trying to remove the image of the jumbo sized brief out of his mind. Then he paused. “She isn't is she?”
Donny furled his brow. “Master, she would have told you.”
“You're right.” It's not that he didn't want to children. He loved them and wanted to have a family. He just didn't want to find out that his wife was pregnant by looking at a pair of truck sized bloomers.
“It was supposed to be a joke,” Donny said getting up.
“More like a bloody scare. And you better not bring home any saggy boxers either,” he warned.
“Me? Never.” Donny waggled his eyebrows at him.
Ian frowned. After Julianna's little stunt, he hoped his wife and husband weren't turning into bratty subs. If they were, he had no one to blame but himself. Perhaps he was in need of a spanking to remind him to pay closer attention to his subs' behavior.
Smirked and shook his head. Me? Get a spanking? Never.
Giving Donny and Julianna one was an idea he could get behind.
Don't forget to check out the other authors for their sexy selections too!

An Excerpt From My Forthcoming book with Siren Publishing, "Joy To His World," The Love Play Matchmaking Service Book 2.
“I don't want anyone zeroing their sights on my husband and wife. We live a quiet life. We have our jobs and our friends and that's cool. And it seems like if we come out so to speak, we risk exposing ourselves to people who might not be happy about the life we have. Heck that might even want we have for themselves and would try to take it.”
Anxiety rose inside of him as he thought about exposing his family's private life to strangers. What if someone took this information and used his husband and wife's submissive tendencies against them.
They were certain behaviors, words that could bring them to their knees. Even a furtive glance on his behalf and they presented themselves to him without hesitation. That kind of love was sacred and belonged only to him. No one else had the right to know that.
Thanks for stopping by. Look for "Joy To His World" to be released soon from Siren Publishing.
