Desperate Decision by G.E. Taylor

Blurb:

Allison North’s flight to freedom is dangerous and desperate. As she scrambles into the stranger’s car crying “drive,” she prays to God this is not her last day on earth. Usually not a gambler, this move is high-stake gambling. Bruised, battered, and with no money, she needs a place to hide and heal until she finds work as a pastry chef. When the stranger offers her shelter, she takes it even as fear rushes up her throat and threatens to choke her. Would she live to regret her decision?

Mason Franklin cannot believe his eyes but, with her urgent cry ringing in his ears, he presses the gas and the car leaps forward. What had possessed her to do such a dangerous act? He intends to find out. But no amount of probing loosened her tongue. Just when he decides to let her go, he accidentally sees her bruised body. Angry that someone did that to her made him want to meet the coward. He offers her shelter. Under his roof, he discovers she is the pastry chef who could not only lift his business to the top, but who built up a need in him that only she can satisfy. The wild passion they share can only lead to one conclusion.

Excerpt

The cold November air hit Allison hard, chilled her bones, and caused instant goose flesh to rise and cover her skin. She hunched over momentarily trying to ward off the chill. Her eyes scanned the train station as a possible place to hide, but she discarded the idea immediately.  It was too open. The streets across from the apartment were busy and not easy to cross.  Estimating her chance of crossing them before being captured, the odds were against her. She would not have the time or the strength to do it before they caught up with her. Moving as fast as she could, she walked across the courtyard, down the embankment to the sidewalk.
Several cars and other vehicles waited at the stoplight. Making a desperate decision, she stepped up quickly to a car and yanked the handle. The door opened and she scrambled inside, slammed the door shut, and locked it. The light changed from red to green. The driver, startled, pressed the gas. The car leaped forward only to stop abruptly. Several horns blasted behind him instantly.

“What the fuck!”

 “Drive! Please drive,” she begged.

The sound of her voice carried a desperation that commanded him to obey. The car leaped forward as two people, a man and a woman, dashed into the courtyard. They hurried through the wrought iron gate onto the sidewalk looking up and down the street, peering into cars as they drove by. Allison eased down on the floor of the car until the stranger’s car circled the green and headed toward South Street. Her heart pumped furiously, and she swallowed with difficulty. Lifting her shaky hand, she eased herself upon the seat. She had no idea what she would say to this stranger when he stopped his car. He must think she was insane or had escaped from somewhere. She hadn’t. This was the first time in her life that she’d ever done anything like this.

He pulled into the parking lot at the supermarket, flung his door open, and walked around his car to the back right door. His long strides reached it before Allison got out. As she pushed against the door, he pulled it open.  He was furious with her for not only scaring the living hell out of him, but for doing this unthinkable act. What could have possessed her to do it? She’d better have a damn good reason.

About G.E. Taylor

I became hooked on reading romance novels during my teen years and my attempt at writing began in high school. All of my manuscripts were mailed under my bed. Eventually, I threw out most of them. That was painful especially since I’d hand written them first, then typed them on my old typewriter.

In college I majored in English but ended up with a Master in Social Work and a Master in Education.

Though I had these different career paths, I never gave up my passion for writing. Now I’m much more committed to it and writing full time. I’ve drawn on my years of practicing social work to give my work authenticity and realism.

I live in New Jersey with my family.

A Little Yule Magick by Skye Ritchey

Blurb:

Sygin and Boyd are adept mages, looking forward to their winter break. Being alone in the big manor for Yule is their most cherished tradition. But a series of mishaps may keep them from their celebratory festivities.

Excerpt:

Boyd Lagassi shifted his position and dragged Sygin Ball up to straddle his thighs. "I want your famous fried honeycakes." His mouth closed over her nipple and he flicked his tongue back and forth.

Sygin moaned low in her throat. "Famous only because it's one of the few things I can make and not screw up." She rocked forward, lifting her hips and pushing backwards onto his hard shaft.

Boyd closed his eyes, relishing her warm heat. "And it's tradition. Five years and counting." He flexed his thighs then relaxed and let Sygin control the pace.

She kicked up the speed, her hands planted firmly on his chest. He opened his eyes, loving to watch her. Her passion for him took his breath away, her expressive face showing every nuance, her gaze going darker, the green irises going from a soft leafy color to a deep pine shade.

Her hips rolled back and forth, her breaths coming in short little bursts. Not long now, for either of them. Boyd slid his hands down to cup her ass, urging her forward. Her fingers curled into her palms, the knuckles grazing his skin, rasping against his flesh. He welcomed the mild discomfort, needing the edge to hold off, wanting his release to follow hers.

Sygin's head dropped back and her internal muscles tightened around his cock. She gasped then groaned. Boyd thrust upward, bumping hard against her clit and she cried out, the orgasm washing over her, sending a shudder through her body. Boyd let go, sliding over the brink. His hands grasped Sygin's hips, fingers digging into the soft spot above her pelvic bone. He came, his head thrashing on the pillow. Sygin collapsed atop his chest, her forehead resting on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.

She pressed a kiss to his collarbone. "Can we skip class today and just stay in bed?"

He chuckled. "Something tells me if we don't show up, we'll have the entire student population knocking on our door."

About the Author:

Currently a writer and editor by trade, Skye Ritchey, also writing as ML Skye and Skylin O'Thomas, can usually be found on IM or browsing the web while the TV plays in the background. She credits her parents for developing her fascination with 'what if' scenarios.

Growing up, she watched a mish mash of science fiction, westerns, and military dramas and read about other worlds and distant times along with contemporary romance… thanks to her mom's reading group—a wild, wacky bunch with diverse tastes that never failed to entertain.

She started writing short stories in grade school, switched to poetry in high school, and got sidetracked by a myriad of jobs and starting a family. But the writing called again and now she gravitates toward the genres she grew up loving, combining them with sensual and erotic romance set in different times and places. Meeting her husband on a blind date—after swearing she'd never go on one—Skye decided to never again say never.

'What if' couldn't exist if she did.

She resides in Ohio with her husband and children.

Something Else by Nia Farrell

BLURB:

Grace Murphy is the local psychic medium who dreams of her soulmates –Nico White, a bisexual American Indian musician, and J.T. Santiago, an ex-Navy SEAL and former cage fighter with PTSD on top of the guilt that he’s still carrying from other lifetimes that they’ve shared.

J.T. is a dominant, but he’s never had a male submissive and Grace and Nico are a package deal. It’s a learning curve for all of them, with J.T.’s initiation into MMF and MM relations and Grace’s introduction to BDSM. With Grace’s yin, J.T’s yang, and Nico’s center balance, the three of them come together as far as J.T.’s PTSD will allow, but forging a future means healing the past, however painful it might be, in an interracial paranormal MMF ménage BDSM erotic romance.

EXCERPT:

With the appearance of him, I feel the shift in my own energy, like he’s a generator crystal that’s amplified every sense, common or otherwise. My zipped perceptions are razor sharp, dead on accurate, and delivered with lightning speed. When half hour readings go to twenty minutes, I start giving discounts and the line never ends, not until the ten minute warning that the fair doors will be closing soon.

At five p.m., one of the New Age shop assistants starts walking the aisles, clearing the crowd and the room’s energy with a ringing pair of Tibetan tingshas. I smile my thanks when she manages to herd the last hopeful from my queue. Smile bigger yet when I see that my Latino angel has returned.

Hi,” I say, sounding rather shy for someone who’s had no problem all day, delving deep into other people’s lives and issues.

His lips tuck upward, and he nods his head toward the back of the room. “I promised my cousin I’d help her. Lena says it’ll take an hour.”

Lena. Pretty face, rocking body, bedroom hair, tats. Amazing silver jewelry and unique leather goods. “I like her.” Actually, I envy her. I have gifts, but Lena has the skills to make her visions a reality. It’s what sets her stuff apart.

She’s got to get home. Sick kid,” he explains. “Daddy’s challenged enough when Ariana’s a healthy two-year-old. I’ll be free once Lena’s on the road. Will you be around? I can meet you somewhere. We could grab a bite to eat. Talk. If not tonight, then later.”

Déjà vu. Six months ago, I’d said nearly the same things to Nico.

I suggest O’Toole’s, two blocks east. “Do you know it?”

He nods grudgingly, clearly not a fan of the Irish pub. Sensitive to his inner turmoil, I offer an alternative. “Or Jerry’s?” It’s a local bar and grill, edgier than sports and just shy of biker bar.

God, his smile. I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven.

Jerry’s,” he says. “In an hour or so.”

I’m still processing when Nico comes to check on me. He’s moved our vending van and already has his stuff loaded, and I’ve done almost squat.

Hey.” He touches me, sliding his darker fingers up my ivory arms until they reach my elbows. When his thumbs start rubbing circles in the bend of each arm, my root chakra kicks into overdrive, and my fucking knees grow weak.

He’s here,” I whisper, damn close to trembling. “He’s meeting us at Jerry’s after six. Help me pack so we can go get a table.”

That time of night, on a Saturday, there’s usually a line out the door one or two blocks long. I know I have spiritual helping hands at work when we get there and are seated at a booth in the quieter back with only a fifteen minute wait.

I’ve said nothing more to Nico about Lena’s cousin. It occurs to me that I never asked and he never offered his name. We’ll all know each other soon enough, and way beyond a first-name basis.

Just thinking about what’s coming makes my panties wet enough to stick my dress to the worn wooden bench beneath me.

Our waitress, Cherry, slides coasters on the table and sets down our drinks, a bottle of pseudo beer for Nico and a glass of orange juice for me. I don’t want anything, either brewed from nature or crafted in a chemistry lab, to dull my senses tonight. No alcohol. No soda. Juice and water it is.

A menu sits to my right, waiting for him to show. Across from me, Nico scans both sides of the laminated page and sets it down, his decision already made. I take longer, wrestling with my baser meat-loving self when I know I should shun it, but really, where’s the fun in that? I turned vegan once in high school. It lasted all of two weeks, but I stayed quasi-vegetarian for three years. Dairy, eggs, and seafood gave me the protein I craved, but it took cutting out the warm blooded meat to raise my vibration and get it to where I needed it to be. Because that’s when the dreams started. Visions of the past lives we’ve shared. Memories of the three of us.

Poised on the brink of our next go-round, I have to wonder why we keep coming back like this, like frigging musketeers. Is it because we’re stronger together, or dysfunctional apart? Jesus, I’d like to think I don’t need them, but I know how much more, how much stronger I am since meeting Nico. My body thrums to think of what it will be like to have both of them with me.

In me.

Fuck.

Heather brings out a new side of him, a side that makes him want to protect as well as pillage. But Daemon needs a little creative backup to help set his fairy’s naughtiness free. And that means bringing in Mistress Jin. Under the genie’s tutelage and Daemon’s shameless lust, Heather is about to learn what it means to let loose.

Surrendering to the Beast - Teaser 1
Excerpt:
Heather steeled herself to do battle with Satan. Cautiously, she faced her webcam and his image on her computer monitor. This evening, he’d assumed the form of a European playboy, a snifter of cognac held casually in one hand, dark hair slicked back, his blood-red ascot contrasting nicely with his white shirt and navy blazer. He certainly knew how to dress.

“Cara mia.” Heat smoldered in his voice and dark eyes.

“What can I do to you?”

“For me,” she corrected gently, wondering when he’d ever get that right. Grinning, he focused on her white peasant blouse and jutted nipples, her areolas tightened from the chilly weather, not him.

Tonight was damp and cool thanks to a spring storm that continued to rage in the French Quarter. Lightning flashed and the office lights flickered. Flames flared briefly in his pupils.

“We’ll do many things to each other, no?” Heather smiled politely, a knee-jerk reaction for a good fairy.

Needing to get tough, she held up his overdue bill, hoping he’d look at it rather than her chest. Her hand shook so badly the paper rattled.

“How you tremble,” he cooed. “How pale you are. Allow me to put some color in your lovely cheeks. Heat that will last an eternity.”

Her skin got even clammier. “Please, just pay your account.”

She waved the paper and talked fast before losing her nerve.

“Your grandson failed to show for his last two appointments. I’m sure he had a good reason. Unfortunately, he didn’t call to cancel.” She offered an apologetic smile and pressed on. “Because you’re the cardholder, we had to charge you for the time. I’m so sorry, but it is the rule.”

One she was honor-bound to enforce as an employee of From Crud to Stud, a makeover service for supernatural beings. Howls from weres, hisses from vampires and obscenities from demons poured from the treatment rooms. Those poor souls were going through proverbial hell to suppress their beasts. They longed to date mortal women without freaking them out, while also winning their hearts the normal way. With real charm, not magic, with integrity and love, not lies and manipulation. But these makeovers took the staff’s valuable time and clients needed to pay for the effort. Even Satan should understand that. He gave her an indulgent smile.

“What charges?” Gasping, she dropped the flaming paper in her trashcan before it burnt her fingers. “Later,” he said and killed the call.

Hurriedly, Heather put out the small blaze, chiding herself for letting the account get to this point. She should have been firm with Satan’s grandson when he signed up for the service. Determined to make up for being too nice, she brought up her bank account to pay the charges herself. She was about to transfer the funds when the lights flickered twice, thunder boomed and the front door flew open, banging against the wall. She flinched.

A blast of dank air and rain blew inside, followed by a guy who looked to be thirty or so. He wore a black cowboy hat, snug navy tee, low-slung jeans and cowboy boots. Once he shoved the door shut, he slumped against it, breathing hard. Heather stood so quickly her chair rolled into the wall. He didn’t notice. He’d closed his eyes and raised his face to the ceiling, his prominent Adam’s apple bobbing with his hard swallow.
Alarmed yet intrigued, she regarded the short, dark hairs on his throat and took the rest of him in. His rain-dampened hair was the color of dark chocolate, thick and wavy, flowing to his broad shoulders. They heaved with his next ragged breath. Tall, possibly six-three, he was lean yet muscular. His wet tee clung to his well-defined pecs and abs, those bruising biceps. Stubble covered his strong jaw, upper lip and cheeks. His bronze skin spoke of days in the sun.

Even from where she stood, Heather smelled his scent. Clean and masculine, a woodsy, fresh fragrance along with something else…the unmistakable odor of liquor. Uh-oh. It wasn’t often that mortals, drunk or otherwise, happened upon this place. When they did, Heather had ironclad rules to follow. First, buzz Constance, a voodoo priestess who could remove memories by laying her hands on someone’s head. Following that, Heather was supposed to buzz Becca, a half-mortal witch who owned this place. Heather leaned over her desk to press the intercom button.

The guy turned to her, blinked slowly and stared. Her hand stalled. His eyes were amazing, the color of Lipton tea, ringed by long, sooty lashes, his attention riveted as he drank her in. Given his slow, sexy smile, Heather suspected he was undressing her with his eyes. She swallowed and was about to press the button when he groaned suddenly and mournfully, the sound of someone in serious pain.

Heather paused and decided not to call for anyone just yet. “Are you all right?”

About Me

You know you want to know!): I’m an award-winning, bestselling novelist in erotic, paranormal, contemporary and historical romance for Kensington, Samhain Publishing, Ellora’s Cave, Siren Publishing, Booktrope, Luminosity, Decadent, and indie.

Yay! Booklist, Publisher’s Weekly, Romantic Times and numerous online sites have praised my work, and trust me, I’m forever grateful for that. I’ve had my books reach finals in the EPIC competition, one title was named Book of the Year at a review site, and others have won awards in RWA-sponsored contests.

I’m actually featured in the 2012 Novel & Short Story Writer’s Market. Talk about feeling like a freaking star. Before my writing career, I was the editor of an award–winning Midwestern newspaper and worked in Story Direction for a Hollywood production company.

Outside of being an admitted and unrepentant chocoholic, I’ve flown a single-engine plane (scary stuff), rewired an old house using an electricity for dummies book, and have been known to moan like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally whenever I’m eating anything Mexican or Italian.

Yeah, I like to eat (burp). You can check me out here – yes, I am everywhere!  :)

The Architect by C.A. Bell

A one night stand? Not if you arrange to have another.

Blurb:

When Ruth Watson finally decides to break her depressive state of singleness and get back out on the social scene, the last thing she expects to happen is meet Mr Right and share a moment of passion in the middle of the buzzing city… But she does.

After meeting Heath Berkley on her first venture out after two years of hermit like existence, Ruth’s life suddenly becomes exciting for the first time. As their meetings become more frequent, and their love affair blossoms, a common interest between the pair is found.

Agreeing to explore their unveiled kinkier sides while Heath is in town on business, Ruth finds herself rapidly slipping under his spell and craving more of him.

But when their journey into the darker side introduces them to George Randall, things take a sinister turn, and when his true identity is revealed, Ruth has a hunger for revenge.

Knowing there is only one place she wants to be, Ruth follows Heath’s disciplinary hand to the Highlands of Scotland, in hope that his healing arms will squeeze the pain and devious thoughts away. At least until she has to return to London.

Excerpt:

As the night progresses, and the tender does as instructed, I find myself becoming tipsy and more confident as I gaze at the stubble-chinned guy with the great suit, and occasionally try to catch his eye. But no such luck.

Turning my back to him and giving myself a telling off for being so desperate, I notice that the club has grown busier. With the ever-increasing number of bodies giving off their warmth, the bar suddenly becomes unbearably hot. I shrug my shoulders high and shake my jacket down, imprisoning it between my back and the bars on the top of the stool. Then, tossing my long hair to one side and exposing my bare neck and shoulder, I sit and watch a couple that have just got up to dance. Their casual swaying soon turns suggestive, and I keep my eyes glued on them as I blindly reach out for my glass, grasp it, and place it on my lap.

“Can I buy you a drink?” A warm hand rests on my naked shoulder.

Turning to see that it’s the dish I have been ogling all night, I nervously bite my lip and murmur an indecisive, “Umm.”

“I’m not taking no for an answer,” he says with a smile across his angelic yet troubled face.

My lips curl mischievously. “Well, in that case, I suppose I’ll have to say yes.”

He lifts his hand to the barman and says, “Another for the lady, and I’ll join her,” before walking behind me and creating a breeze that causes goose bumps to rise on the back of my neck.

With my eyes anchored on him as he straddles the stool beside me and hands the tender a crisp note, my thoughts become all sorts of inappropriate as I imagine what his fuck face might look like if I straddled him like he just did that stool.

My filthy thoughts are interrupted when our drinks are placed in front of us. My God, Ruth, stop it, you hussy.

I refocus my thoughts and thank him for the beverage as he pushes his hair back from his face. I admire his strong jaw line, and how he clenches it every now and again as though he is chewing over his next sentence.
“You’re welcome.” He smiles, holding out his big manly hand. “I’m Heath.”

I take it without hesitation. “I’m Ruth.”

In my head it’s more like, ‘I’m yours’ as I rip his shirt off his back, and we have breathless frantic sex like they do in the Hollywood blockbusters.

Jesus, what is the matter with me? I had no idea I was so frustrated.

Tiger's Mate by April Zyon. A Story from the Bad Alpha Anthology

AprilZyon-BadAlhaMF-evernightpublishing-jayaheer2015-banner

Blurb:

Streak politics, and differences in opinions forced Kurt Owens to choose his own path. While it may be outside of the law in many regards he sees it as ensuring justice for the true victims of crimes when the system fails them. It’s his way of seeing the guilty pay, and keeping his own inner beast in check with the violence, and blood it craves.

Everyone thinks having a super power would be great. Alexa Harold would beg to differ. She’s been cursed to see ghosts, the dead not yet having gone to their final resting place, or judgment, or wherever they belong. They track her down, and harass her until she’s ready to go mad. Learning early in life what she needs to avoid has been the only saving grace in keeping her sanity intact.

Then she sees a man who couldn’t possibly be real. It was just her luck that such a prime specimen would in fact be deceased. Only he isn’t, and he’s taking notice of her. With a little temptation, some mystery, and a taunt he leaves her wanting more. Kurt never thought he’d find his mate outside of the streak, or streak functions.

While those of a supernatural inclination aren’t exactly rare, they have had to be careful and keep their population down. Alexa is the woman for him the only one he could ever want or need. And when her life is put in danger by his own past Kurt won’t stop until everyone understands to get to this tiger’s mate, they’ll have to get through him.

AprilZyon-BadAlhaMF-evernightpublishing-jayaheer2015-finalimage

Excerpt:

Wrapping his hand around the fresh longneck the bartender slid his way, Kurt lifted it to his lips to take a long drink. His contact was late. Never a good sign when the guy who did all his go-between work wasn’t on time. Especially when it was payday. Kurt would give the man another half hour before hunting his ass down. Any longer than that and the ditzy blonde at the other end of the bar might garner up some courage to come talk to him. Her friends had been daring her to since they’d caught sight of him.

So far she’d resisted their urging despite the number of hungry looks she’d sent his way. While he had zero problems hooking up with some random, preferably nameless, chick in a bar, that one looked like serious trouble. He could have given anyone a multitude of reasons why. Namely he knew she was trouble by the two thousand dollar shoes, one and a half thou handbag, and he didn’t even want to tally up her outfit.

Kurt wasn’t a connoisseur of fashion, not even close, but he’d been around enough to start to recognize the brand names. He had to be observant in what he did, as otherwise he’d end up dead. He took another long pull from the bottle, camouflaging his perusal of  the group so that they wouldn’t  perceive it as interest. The blonde was downing shots.

Freaking fan-fucking-tastic.

If she put enough down, she’d likely get up the courage to actually wobble over in her overpriced stilettos. Not what he wanted tonight. He was here to get paid for the job he’d completed, and then he was going to find a place where no one knew him to crash for many hours of peaceful slumber. Tensing, he felt someone getting close he let out a breath.

Only the waitress.

He’d chosen the end of the bar with the wall to his back so he could see the entire place, and so no one could get too close without him knowing. While it sucked if he had to bail, it was tactically the wisest location in case trouble came calling. And blonde bimbo was making her move.

Son of a fucking bitch.

She tottered across the bar, closing the distance between them as he waved the bartender over for another cold one.

Relief crashed through him as his contact slid onto the empty seat at Kurt’s side.

“Sorry, man, fucking accident six blocks over fucked me right up. I’m late. I sincerely apologize. Didn’t know it was there until I was in the thick of the shit. It’s truly amazing how perfectly decent human beings turn into the Grim fucking Reaper when there’s a DOA at a crash. Couldn’t get a single one of them to move enough to let me through. Fuckers all looked at me like I was the douchebag.”

Lenny signaled the bartender when he’d finished his spiel. Kurt gave the man a few moments to take a drink before he acknowledged him.

“No worries,” he said quietly.

He didn’t bother mentioning he’d been mere minutes from heading out to hunt his scrawny ass down. No reason to upset the little guy unduly. Besides, Lenny knew what Kurt would do to him if the man didn’t show up for a meet.

“I tucked it into the usual spot,” Lenny said. Which meant Kurt’s payment was secured in Kurt’s truck in the lockbox in the back.

“I may have another gig for you. I’ll need to do some background, and check a few of the less clear details, but I should know something in a couple of days.”

Kurt gave a slow nod. The blonde was back at the table of idiotic sorority types downing more shots.

“Shoot me a text for a meet when you feel confident about it.”

While Lenny might give the impression of being the unreliable sort, Kurt did trust him. To a degree. The man brokered all the deals, kept Kurt out of it all, and ensured Kurt got paid for what he did. Doing what he did, it wasn’t like Kurt could set up a web page and advertise. That was just begging for a one way ticket to a ten by eight cell for life, if not the chair. Tipping his beer up he did another visual sweep of the place. Movement from the end of the bar near the girls caught his attention.

Son of a … bikers, why the hell is it always bikers?

Most were good guys even if they did shit that had the law on their asses most of the time. Then there were the wannabes who acted tough, blew smoke, and basically started shit. The guys making lewd gestures to one another about the sorority sisters were very definitely in the second category. Big, scary looking, and assholes. They’d also been drinking so it was a situation ripe, and ready to explode. Setting his beer down Kurt turned slightly.

“You may want to finish that up, and clear out. There’s about to be trouble in here.”

Kurt was itching for a fight. His last job had gone smoothly, too smoothly for him. He was a hands-on sort that liked to get good and bloody. The biker assholes might finally give him a way to let off a bit of steam. And if he happened to break a few of their bones or faces, all the better in his mind. While Kurt’s conscience didn’t pipe up all that often, there was no way he’d risk the guy that was his go-to man.

“Uh, shit, right.” Lenny chugged the last of his beer quickly. He reached to his pocket. “I got it, go.”

Kurt pulled off a couple of bills to pay for his beers and Lenny’s. The man took a cut off every job Kurt completed, which was all of them because he was that fucking good, but Kurt still paid for his drinks at every meet.

“One of these days I will pay for a drink, you know.”

“You can try, but we both know who has the better and faster moves. Now go. You’re no use to me in a hospital.” “The love and concern for my wellbeing I feel pouring off you warms my heart.”

Hearing the sarcasm Kurt turned his eyes on the other man, and growled. Not some pissy ass sound a human could make, but a sound only a born predator could pull from the bowels of his gut.

Surprising the Alpha- The Venn Pack in Love by Elodie Parks

Thank you for inviting me to your lovely blog today to talk about my new release with Siren Publishing, ‘Surprising the Alpha’, an erotic, paranormal romance.

Blurb

The town is dying after a new highway takes its previous through traffic and custom away from shops, cafes, the bars and tourist attractions. The Venn wolf-shifter pack and alpha, Joshua Venn, are suffering. They’ve lived happily in the town as humans and like it, but now they’re threatened with slinking back to a woodland den with their tails between their legs.

One day Dani Cruz and her brother Jason hit town. They’re entrepreneurs whose business is urban regeneration and they intend to save this town. Only one person resents their arrival, alpha wolf-shifter Joshua. Will his determination to be the only one who saves his pack drive the town to ruin? Or will something happen that changes his life forever?

Joshua Venn is looking for answers. It’s one hot summer and someone hides a secret.
This alpha is in for more than one surprise.

About the story:

Surprising the Alpha was originally written for an anthology, but then ultimately developed into a full-length story, and the first in ‘The Venn Pack in Love’ series.

Joshua Venn is particularly dear to me as a character. He’s sexy, an alpha, but vulnerable, and as he falls in love with Dani Cruz, the heroine, he has to accept he’s not the big bad alpha he hoped to be.

We get a glimpse of the whole Venn pack and meet the character who features in the second Venn Pack story, an erotic paranormal suspense, ‘Wolf Bond’.

I wanted this wolf-shifter pack to be different and have none of the sometimes hackneyed
wolf-lore found in this type of story. The series has a third story already in the pipeline and each story features one of the pack, in love, of course. (Smiles)

Read an excerpt:

Her feminine perfume surrounded him. Her heartbeat echoed in his ears. Her golden-green eyes flashed as she spoke. Her long hair flicked around her shoulders and swept the tops of her pretty arms as she spoke. Her mouth enticed him. The way her bottom lip stuck out as she stared up at him bravely sent lust speeding through him. Hardly knowing what he was doing, he grabbed her face and sank his mouth on hers. The second he kissed her every muscle in his tightly strung body relaxed.

Soft lips parted under his. Her delicate hands slipped across his chest to hold him tight.
He floated in sensation. His cock hardened deliciously. With a low growl, he let her go and stepped away, shocked not only at his needs, but also at her passionate response.

With a soft sound, Dani followed to be close to him again. “What did you think of my offer to you?”
Joshua’s hackles rose. He pushed her away, saw her unbalance, and caught her. He crushed her to his body.

She molded to him and tilted her face to his.

Joshua gazed into her eyes and saw desire, pure sexual need. His mind emptied of everything but the softness of her ass cupped in his hand. He rammed his erection against her, a low growl escaping before he kissed her so hard she whimpered. Joshua tore her shirt off, sucking her neck hungrily.

Until Forever by Mckinlay Thompson- She'll risk Everything to Keep Her New sub Even If It Means Dating Another Dom #MMF #BDSM #Cowboys #Erotic #Romance

BLURB:

All Cody Winters wants is a loving dominant to call his own. Cody knows Troy Boone is the man for him, but Troy has commitment issues and it is driving them apart. When he is offered his dream job, Cody decides to start over, but his car breaks down just outside of Merricks, Montana, leaving him desperately in need of a knight in shining armor.

Samantha McDonald has yet to find that one man that makes her body stand up and take notice. She comes across a broken down car on the side of the road, and is surprised and delighted with what she finds.

When Troy roars into town and throws a spanner in their budding relationship, Cody suggests that they try things the Merricks way. Sam will risk everything to keep her new submissive, even if it means dating another Dom.

Trouble has also followed Cody and their lives are in danger. Will Cody need rescuing once more?

STORY EXCERPT

The car sputtered again, and Cody held his breath. Please, please, please, he prayed, but it was no use. The engine gave one last shudder and died. Cody used the momentum to steer the car off the road before it rolled to a stop.

“Crap, shit, bugger, shit,” he swore, slamming his fist on the steering wheel. Cody unsnapped his seat belt and popped the hood before getting out of the car. The engine was steaming and hissing as he propped up the hood.

Cody stared at the engine, but he really had no idea what was wrong with the thing. He failed big time at all things manly. It wasn’t as though he was girly or anything. He had just never been someone interested in cars, sports, or the great outdoors. He put it down to the fact that all those things usually coincided with drinking, and he wasn’t much of a drinker. He preferred to stick to coffee.

Sighing, he moved away from the car and looked up and down the road. All he could see for miles was nothing, just endless trees, paddocks, and road. There was no other traffic and not a house in sight. He was well and truly up shit creek without a paddle.

A thought struck Cody, and he raced to his car. He had his cell in the car. He could call for help. Not that he knew who to call. He couldn’t call emergency services, and he wasn’t a member of one of those roadside assist companies. He wasn’t going to ring Troy. He would rather starve on the side of the road than call his sort-of-ex for help.

Grabbing his phone from his backpack, Cody swiped on the screen and looked at the display. He almost cried at the little no-signal sign displayed on his cell. He threw the phone back into the car and sat down in the passenger seat with a huff.

He would just have to wait, and hopefully someone would drive past soon. His great adventure was turning into a bit of a nightmare, and he needed rescuing. He needed a knight in shining armor to come and sweep him of his feet.

Cody let his mind wander as he waited. He liked the idea of being a damsel in distress. What was the male equivalent? Cody snorted. He wasn’t sure there was one. He would settle for hot, hunky dude in distress.
Now all he needed was his knight in shining armor. They would have to be strong and independent and good looking. It was his fantasy after all. Capable of having a relationship and not commitment phobic. He’d had enough of that with Troy to last a lifetime. Knowing how to fix cars would be a bonus too.

Cody could imagine it all. He closed his eyes and tried to picture his fantasy rescue. The man would drive up in his large black pickup, and they would stare into each other’s eyes. Cody would shyly cough and look away before his rescuer would ask, “Are you okay?”

Cody’s lip would quiver, and he would suck in a deep breath.

“Excuse me, sir? Are you okay?”

No, no, he was imagining a more masculine voice, but he would roll with it. He didn’t mind being rescued by a woman. Yes, a sexy curvy Domme. Cody’s fantasy changed form as he shifted in his seat.

“Hello? Are you awake?” Golly, she was a persistent, naggy rescuer in his fantasy. “Are you going to answer me, or are you unconscious?”

Cody jumped as a hand touched his shoulder and gave him a small shake. His eyes snapped open, and he let out an unmanly squeal.

“You scared me,” he said, holding his hand to his chest. He looked up at the blonde woman standing before him and blinked. She was beautiful, and Cody’s mouth went dry.

She had the most amazing curly blonde hair, styled as though she’d fallen out of a ’40s film. Her light green eyes stared back at him, and Cody was entranced. She was curvy and full-figured, her body perfectly complemented in her jeans and red-checkered shirt. Her large breasts pushed against the material, and the way she was leaning forward toward him created a most spectacular view.

“Sorry,” she said. Cody’s eyes snapped back to hers. “I called out a couple of times, but you didn’t seem to hear me.”

“I was lost in thought,” Cody replied. “I didn’t even hear your car pull up.”

“I’m surprised,” she said chuckling. “That thing is a beast.”

Cody looked out his back window at the large black pickup parked behind his little car. His fantasy was coming to life in more ways than one.

“You drive that thing?” he asked. It was a huge vehicle for such a small woman, and she was small despite her extra curves. She was short and curvy and perfect.

“Not always,” she answered. “I had to borrow it from a friend so I could pick up some furniture I bought online. I usually drive a vintage Mustang.”

Cody could see her in a Mustang. The top pulled back and her hair under a scarf as she flew down the highway. He needed to get a grip. He was starting to wonder if he had conjured up the woman.

“I’m Cody by the way,” he said, introducing himself. He stuck out his hand to shake and waited.

“Sam,” she replied and placed her small hand in his.

ADULT EXCERPT

Sam shuffled over to Cody on her knees and looked up at her sub. He was covered in a fine sheen of sweat, his hard body glistening in the light. She ran her hands along his flesh and felt the heat of his body under her palms. The hair on his legs was coarse and bristly, a contrast against his smooth skin.

He was everything she had ever wanted in a submissive and had handled his spanking better than she could ever imagine. Troy’s big palms had laid into his ass, and even Sam had cringed slightly at the force. Cody had simply moaned and stuck his ass out farther, silently begging for more.

Sam had found herself getting turned on as she had spanked Cody’s butt, but it was nothing compared to the fascination and desire she had felt watching Troy as he dominated Cody.

Sam took his hard length in her hand and wrapped her fingers around its wide circumference. Cody was well endowed, her small fingers unable to get all the way around.

She wondered what Troy would look like. He was a big man. Was he big all over? She would say yes if she had to guess. Cody’s loud moan bought her out of her wonderings and back to the task at hand.

“Does my subbie want something?” Sam asked. She leaned forward, licked the slit of his cock, and tasted his salty flavor for the first time. His masculine essence tingled on her tongue, a flavor unique to Cody. His cock jumped in her hand, so she repeated the action and then swirled her tongue around the spongy head.
Troy sat down on the couch next to Cody. Sam watched him with hooded eyes and took Cody farther into her mouth. She used her saliva to lubricate his length and then bobbed her head up and down and hollowed out her cheeks.

“Tug on his balls, baby,” Troy told her. “He likes to have them pulled on.”

Sam reached up and did as Troy told her. Sam rolled them in her palm and gave them a gentle yank. Cody’s hips came off the couch as he shouted, making Sam smile around his shaft. He really did like having his balls played with.

“Please,” Cody said. “I can’t hold back any longer.”

Sam loved the power she yielded over Cody, and it turned her on only more to hear him beg. She lifted her head and looked at the pained expression on Cody’s face. His chest was rapidly rising and falling, and his eyes were scrunched closed.

“You may come,” Sam said and took his cock into her mouth once more. She took him to the back of her throat and swallowed around his large head. Using her hand to pump his shaft, she worked in time with her mouth.

She didn’t have to wait long before Cody was shouting to the rafters and spilling his seed into her mouth. Sam swallowed and worked his cock in her mouth as he came over and over.

She licked him clean as he softened in her mouth before lifting her head and smiling up at him. His eyes were closed, and he wore a blissful expression on his face, and Sam felt a level of satisfaction that she hadn’t gotten with any other submissive.

“That was hot,” Troy said. “Cody seems to be out of it.”

Sam could see the bulge straining against Troy’s pants and wondered what was going to happen next. She stood, pulled the throw rug off the back of her armchair, and wrapped it around her sleeping sub. He deserved the rest, and it was her job to look after him. She went into the kitchen and grabbed him a bottle of water from the fridge so it would be there when he woke.

Troy was still on the couch when she got back and put the water on the coffee table. Suddenly she felt awkward, not sure what was supposed to happen next. She stood facing Troy and bit her lip in indecision. She knew what she wanted to happen. She just wasn’t sure she should ask for it.

Troy’s cock was still straining against his pants, and Sam’s clit throbbed with need. She discreetly tried to rub her thighs together to lessen her arousal.

“Um,” she said. “I could take care of you too, if you like.”

Gosh, she was supposed to be a Domme. Why was she suddenly so meek and indecisive?

“I have a better idea,” Troy said. “Take off your panties and sit on the armchair. I want to taste you first.”

Sam sucked in a deep breath, and she rushed to comply. She wanted to feel Troy’s mouth on her pussy more than anything in the world at that moment in time.

She kicked off her panties and sat on the chair, her skirt still covering her girly parts from Troy.

“Lift up your skirt and place your legs over the arms of the chair,” Troy told her. “I want to see my pussy, and it is my pussy.”

Author Bio!

I live in Melbourne, Australia with my husband, two children and a Maltese Jack Russell who can't stop barking. I had my first idea for a story whilst working as a chef at the local pub. I have been addicted to reading since my ninth grade teacher read us The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. From then on I read anything I could get my hands on. Now, I love to read stories with a happy-ever-after ending, especially erotic romance. When I’m not running after my kids, I usually can be found cooking, reading or writing.
